The Challenge

Do you have the personal characteristics to join a small church?

Are you able to risk people recognizing you when you come through the door?
Are you able to handle people missing you when you are not able to come?

Many people shy away from places where others can actually get to know them. They are afraid to risk someone getting to know them for a variety of reasons. They may have been hurt by someone or possibly are afraid that if someone gets to know them they might not like them. Many people find it more comfortable to hide in the many then to be known in the few.

In a small church like Hilltop Chapel, you run the risk of being recognized when you are there and missed when you are absent.

Are you a Doer rather than a Watcher?

Many people tend to want to sit and watch as if it is entertainment. Small churches don't have the luxury of observer sections, but if something needs done you might be the someone to do it. Waiting for someone else to do it could be a long wait.

In a small church like Hilltop Chapel, you have multiple opportunities to be involved in the life and decisions of the church.

Are you a self-starter?

Many people want their church to be like their food, pre-prepared and fast to get. Few are willing to step up and build a program or support a struggling program. If you want a children's choir, try leading one and recruiting children from the community to join. If you want a study or activity, you might need to organize and recruit for it.

In a small church like Hilltop Chapel, you are provided the chance to start something and be creative.
